Son has decided that he's dad. Not sure how I feel about that.
It has caused a practical problem. Dad drives the car. Son has been spending time in the driving seat of the car. I, mistakenly, thought that he couldn't do any harm. But when I tried to lock the car tonight, something was wrong. My guess is that son managed to switch on the headlights, and the battery's flat.
Now, the battery is charging in the garage, which is integral to our house. I voiced my vague worries that perhaps when you charge a car battery, gases are given off, and perhaps the garage wil explode. What does 'explode' mean, asked daughter. Actually, I reckon that we're pretty safe. The garage is ventilated, the battery is sealed. But, just as a precaution, I've set the central heating not to come on in the morning (the boiler is in the garage).
