An off day

Stayed at home yesterday, on the doctor's instructions (but no antibiotics). To-day, I have the responsibility of looking after daughter. This morning we took ourselves to Dobbie's Garden Centre, where we enjoyed a coffee (fruit juice for daughter) in the early sunshine, and bought a couple of books, some plants, a thingy to hang our new bird feeder from, some seeds for the birds, some compost, and some two-stroke oil for the lawn mower.

The bird feeder was a 'free' gift from the RSPB, which we have just joined, thanks to a friend's kindness. Until to-day, a suspension system of which Heath Robinson would have been proud provided the support, and the contents have been much appreciated by a steady stream of feathered visitors. Unfortunately, having erected a beautiful crook-shaped pole, I thought that I should allow it a couple of days to settle, and attempted to hang the bird feeder from a line stretched from the garden shed to a clothes pole. Sir Isaac got the better of us, and part of the shed was pulled away by the string. So it's off to the local hardware store for some nails to repair the shed ...
