What is a luxury?

Learned this morning that son's nursery are going to change the way that they charge parents (to suit them, not us), which means that our finances are going to have to be rethought. I was hoping that in the autumn we might begin to see the benefit of the council's help towards paying for nursery places for 3-year-olds, but we'll have to wait now until January of next year. So, do we reduce our contribution to Christian organisations, and other charities? We have to pay the mortgage, council tax, for electricity, gas, telephone, food, nappies (but hopefully not for much longer), household goods, transport (I reckon that we need to keep the car). I suspect that the tax changes which came into effect in April meant that quite a few people have had to recalculate their finances.

It's hot and close here. The rain last night battered our roof, but no thunder to clear the air.
