We had a nice meal yesterday evening, at a Beefeater restaurant, to celebrate Grandma's birthday. We could have gone on to observe the fireworks to mark the end of the Edinburgh Festival, but I wasn't sure that we would be able to find somewhere to park the car, and it would have made for a late night. As it was, both children were asleep by the time we reached home, so I reckon that we made the right decision.
This morning, I gave blood. Both daughter and son accompanied me - it was son's first time (not, of course, to give blood, just to be there). On the whole, they behaved themselves well. One of the nurses commented that daughter was a typical woman, bossing her brother.
