We were promised this morning a brisk north-westerly breeze. Whatever, it's brought one of those crystal-sharp days (which I would normally associate with an easterly wind - I remember that in Cambridge they used to say that there was nothing between us and the Urals).
I wonder, too, if my mood has been affected by Radio 3's broadcasts of the Ring from this summer's Edinburgh Festival. We're halfway through, and the relatively gentle end to Die Walkure has maybe calmed me somewhat.
