Back to the daily routine

Somewhat bemused that my raw observation from Saturday's meeting cooked up such a storm. I guess that this is the kind of issue on which it is unlikely that everyone will agree. I have to acknowledge my MP's comment as coming from somebody who does care about Free Trade, and also about responding to her constituents, who might have felt about receiving the kind of mail that I, and others, sent her, much as I feel about some of the mail I receive regarding worthy causes, but which I am unable to respond to. Perhaps a postcard is better than a letter downloaded from a website, since it doesn't imply that a reply is expected (indeed, if the postcard doesn't carry a return address, then no reply is possible).

My take on all this is personal. Whatever is past is past. I was incredibly reluctant to attend that meeting. Perhaps I sensed that there would be no going back, that I was entering an arena where I wouldn't be comfortable. But I think, and hope that it was the right step to take.

Meanwhile, for the first time in a while, I took a stroll round the campus after lunch to-day.
