Light at the end of the tunnel

For what seems to be ages (perhaps approaching 3 weeks) we've been affected by a leaking hot water cylinder. With a joiner's visit yesterday evening, I hope that we've turned a corner. His job will be to replace what the engineers cut away from the wooden framework of the house to have room to replace the cylinder. Then an electrician has to wire up the new cylinder to the mains (it has some kind of clever anti-corrosion thingy). Then another joiner will replace the panel which had to be removed for the engineers to gain access to the cylinder. And, I guess, we ourselves will have some jobs to do, including repainting the kitchen ceiling.

What's this Christmas business that's supposed to be just around the corner, by the way?

And many thanks to Chris for his sterling work on the wiblog infrastructure. Much appreciated!
