The Meadows

Within what we now know as Edinburgh, there used to be two lochs. One, the Nor' Loch, is now Princes Street Gardens. The other, the Boroughloch, is now The Meadows, an expanse of flat grassland (where it is not wise for ordinary folk to go alone after dark). Being the possessor of a University car parking permit, I was able this morning to park in a University car park, and walk across The Meadows, with my family, to see daughter's consultant (or, in fact, as it turned out, his assistant). We were concerned that there is a growth just above her left collarbone, which the doctors know about, but which seemed to us over the Christmas and New Year period to have enlarged significantly.

The doctor agreed, and said that we were right to have made the appointment. The first step is another MRI. Hopefully, daughter will be able to lie still when she has to. We've been given some medicine, because the last time she had trouble with an area of skin which she wanted to scratch. She's not to be operating any heavy machinery after she takes the medicine.
