Yesterday, from our duty room at work, we watched a spectacular thunderstorm. The phone rang - my family wanted to tell me that they were in the middle of a thunderstorm. I guess that we were closer to the action - a couple of times through the window I saw the jagged line of a lightning flash - almost horizontal across the sky. Trying to make comforting noises down the phone - then shouting 'wow, look at that!'
To-day, the sky is clear blue. My lunchtime walk was particularly enjoyable.
