Arrived in reasonable time for yesterday afternoon's appointment, about a quarter-hour before we were due. But there were no parking spaces, so I sat there, blocking a carriageway of one of the main roads through the hospital, as directed, hoping that someone would move out. Daughter was getting, understandably, impatient, so with 5 minutes to go, I got her organised, with her coat and her appointment card, and let her go in herself. Apparently, she created quite a stir when she ran past the reception desk, waving her appointment card (this girl is just 6 years old, well, nearly 7).
5 minutes later, I got parked, and carried son, who was asleep, into the building. Daughter was playing, being looked after by two nurses, who explained that someone at the desk had had the presence of mind to ask them if they were expecting a small person.
The procedure was carried out smoothly and efficiently. Daughter seems to be coping well, indeed was smiling at the end. This was the final planning session before treatment starts, next week.
