Or, should I say, the 'q' word, since I'm on the helpdesk this afternoon, and we, superstitious lot, never actually say that word, in case the opposite happens. Not that it's been quiet on the desk, but it was noticeably quiet around the campus as I took my daily lunchtime stroll. This is day 2 of the AUT strike. There was a picket line on the entrance I normally use (yesterday there wasn't), so I stopped and spoke briefly with a young lady, who handed me a sheet of paper, which, she told me, would explain this picket line which they were doing. I appreciate that there are issues, but I don't think that striking is the way to deal with them.
Anyway, just one day to go (National Doodle Day is to-morrow), so maybe I should abandon words, and express myself in squiggly lines instead (artistic ability isn't one of my strengths, I'm afraid).
