I know, I know. I missed Shrove Tuesday. I didn't realise the day (although I was vaguely aware that CBeebies and Rainbows seemed to be cooking pancakes rather more than they usually do). So when the Co-op on Saturday was offering a free pancake mix with every purchase of one of those plastic squeezy lemons, I decided that Sunday breakfast would include pancakes. And these would be real breakfast pancakes, not the drop scones which we have occasionally produced in the past.
Happily, they were a success. So, to-day is our personal Ash Monday. Appropriately enough, since radiotherapy starts to-day, and continues until Good Friday. Then the Saturday between Good Friday and Easter Sunday is daughter's 7th birthday. Something to look forward to.
