We were fortunate - the weather was neither too hot nor too cold, and it didn't rain. The round trip measured about 5.6 km (or 3.4 miles). Daughter, particularly, excelled herself, covering the distance almost entirely under her own steam (and it was only her daddy's misplaced concern which led to her being carried for just a few metres).
