Bumper update

Well, I hope that it will be.

I'm currently 'between holidays'. On Saturday, we set off again, initially by taxi, to take the train to wherever we're going (I couldn't possibly tell you where that is, of course). We're away for a week, so I hope that being without the car won't prove too inhibiting. Feeling pretty positive - it will be pleasant not having to drive for most of the day to start and finish the holiday.

On the medical front. Daughter lay still for her MRI - I believe that she has got the hang of it now. The results were somewhat neutral. The optic chiasm glioma hasn't shrunk; in fact, it has grown slightly. The consultant seemed happy enough, though; he wasn't expecting anything dramatic. Wife wasn't happy at all, but I think that she'd convinced herself that the growth would be somehow disintegrated by the radiotherapy, which isn't what we were being told. I suppose that I tend to have a more negative outlook than she does, which means that I am less likely to be disappointed. The important fact is that the glioma hasn't grown significantly.

The garden may not look much tidier than it did, but I am trying to get into the habit of working on it 'little and often'. I see it as a 'work in progress', and am not as threatened by it as I was. I am delighted that the mountain cornflower which we acquired from Linkylea House has flowered, and have planted a Kerria which I hope will thrive (though its location isn't ideal).

Son is more philosophical about going to nursery. I think that I understand him better now. Possibly he and I have the same temperament, which means that as I watch him dealing with life's traumas and opportunities, I'm gaining insight into my own behaviour at the same time. And daughter is in good shape.

Looking forward to the holiday.
