Saturday and Sunday

Saturday was a good day. I did spend some time weeding in the garden, without interruption, because wife, daughter, and son had gone shopping. I met up with them for lunch, but then we discovered that daughter had lost a couple of items from her buggy (which her doll was occupying). Miraculously, we found the little pink teddy, but though we searched we couldn't find the little pillow (even though having driven home, we returned to the scene of the crime by bus). But the bus trip worked well, and we did some needed shopping, and returned home.

This morning, I gave blood. Then we took grandma out to lunch, and on the way back fitted her new phone (I had sensibly made a point of charging the handsets when I bought it, but then stupidly didn't realise that a cordless phone handset is always 'listening', so that by to-day they were well and truly discharged).

I continue to read 'Dracula'. I suppose that it is the measure of a well-written story that it is genuinely frightening. At this point I wish that I'd never started to read (or stuck with 'The No. 1 Ladies' Detective Agency', a copy of which I purchased at the Littlebeck fete).
