The car went in for its service on Monday. It has also a number of issues - the top part of the bottle containing the soapy water for the windscreen washer has sheared off, and we can't open the boot - the chap who normally looks after our car, who is a real treasure, has been able to do the basic mechanical work, but for these more specialised tasks we'll have to go to a dealer. It's difficult to find the right balance - the car is over 10 years old, and has travelled nearly 120,000 miles - when do we call it a day?
And something's not right with our phone. Possibly, the rechargeable batteries need to be replaced - but if I go out and buy new batteries, and we find that the fault is with the phone itself - what then?
