Christmas as never before - for us, anyway. We're guests at Malcolm Sargent House, Prestwick, and this morning Santa arrived by helicopter, courtesy of HMS Gannet. Possibly too much excitement - son has eaten neither his breakfast nor his lunch. And, unfortunately, there's plenty of chocolate around to provide an alternative.
A little strange - but experiencing much kindness. Trying to get my head around the knowledge that most of the families are here because one of their children has a life-threatening illness. By comparison, we have suffered little - though we have gone through the trauma (and anticipate the side-effects) of radiotherapy. I've just said to wife that I would quite like to spend next Christmas at home.
Anyway, a merry Christmas to you all, and a good New Year when it comes.
