A reasonably productive week-end

Not sure what I thought of 'The Edge of Reason' - there was a review of a tv drama in the Radio Times, of 'Life isn't all Ha Ha Hee Hee' which commented that the male characters there were either all bad or all good - the same could be said of Bridget Jones - neither male character had much in the way of light or shade. The thing was - I read the first Bridget Jones book - enjoyed it - and haven't seen the film; I haven't read the second, and now I've seen the film - not sure how they tie together - and I did miss what I guess must have been a crucial couple of minutes of the film - because when I came back, she was walking out of her relationship with Mark - that's the advantage of books - if a crisis arises, you can put the book down, and pick up again where you left off. Anyway, I did feel quite happy at the end - but that's the problem with films - they seem to think that a happy ending somehow makes up for all the misery in the middle.

And I wasn't in church this morning. Son really doesn't like church, and if he doesn't want to go, then somebody has to stay at home with him - unless we drag him along, which I don't see as a particularly good long-term strategy.
