(Sorry) The alphabet is awfully long, isn't it. Already, the M(P)H march seems itself to have faded into history. Did it achieve anything? The verdict seems to be that the increase in aid is welcome, but why delay until 2010? And no progress has been made on trade justice. Did anything happen regarding debt relief? And the London bombers have successfully focussed all of the news upon themselves, and the consequences of their actions.

But to try and move this blog forward. The assertion that 'we are all africans' follows, I understand, from the hypothesis that human life began in Africa - we are all descended from the first humans, therefore we are all Africans. Google came up with this reference: http://www.americanscientist.org/template/AssetDetail/assetid/28338. Maybe not accurate scientifically, but being reminded that we are all world citizens is surely a good thing.

And there is a (long) postscript to the story of Fluffy. Amazingly, she really is called Fluffy. On her return from holiday, wife noticed a poster in a shop window saying 'have you seen this cat?' The picture looked familiar, and the cat in question was called Fluffy. She phoned the people, to tell them that their cat had been 'rescued'. They phoned Lothian Cat rescue. Wife phoned (LCR) shortly afterwards, and was told that the call had come just in time. The cat (whom they had called Star - because she was one) was to be homed (?) the next day. The cat's owners had been on holiday (as we had initially assumed).

This week-end, Fluffy paid us a visit (or, to be more accurate, she spent most of the week-end with us). It's nice that she bears us no ill-will.
