I, too, was amused by the way that the marchers used the placards supplied by a certain well-known newspaper, discarding the bit at the top which carried the newspaper's name. More positively, I was particularly impressed by Tearfund's placards, with messages like "WE BELIEVE it's time to speak up for the poor". Quite clever, knowing Tearfund's ethos - 'we believe' reminds us that Tearfund is a faith-based organisation - while the follow-up reminds us that faith should express itself in action.
