Well, I probably don't have angina. I submitted to an exercise test (including the indignity of having my chest shaved so that they could attach electrodes) - basically walking a treadmill while attached to an electrocardiograph machine, and having my blood pressure checked every 2 minutes - and, I gather, met all my targets. Nevertheless, I was given an angina spray, to use if the chest pain recurs. I have to go back to my own surgery, for some blood tests, but, basically, I believe that I have been given the 'all clear'.
Son decided that he needed to see the doctor, which meant that on arriving home (having chosen the environmentally-friendly option of using public transport to get to the hospital - it was probably sanity-friendly as well - there didn't appear to be much space in the car parks, and cars were parked along the main road a good half-mile away from the hospital) I had to drive Wife and Son to the surgery (I was planning to go there anyway, to make an appointment for my blood tests, but I would have walked). The point of this moan is that as we got out of the car, Wife remarked that there was a hissing noise coming from the left rear tyre, and on returning to the car I found that the pressure was lower than it should have been, so we probably now have a puncture to deal with on top of everything else. Fortunately, I keep a foot pump in the boot of the car, so was able to do some emergency re-inflation to get us home. The doctor reckoned that Son has a viral infection, so no immediate treatment, apart from the ubiquitous Calpol (alternating, she suggested, with ibuprofen syrup, which sounded a bit 'over the top' to me).
It's been an interesting day.
