Exchanging one set of stresses for another

It's Friday, it's 8:42 in the evening, and I'm home. And to-morrow, the Happy Gang are doing their farewell concert in Dunfermline, and it seems that Son, although not well enough to go to school to-day, is going to be well enough to get the train from New Craighall to Dunfermline (changing at Edinburgh Waverley) along with daughter, Wife, and me, to see the Happy Gang for what will, I guess, be the very last time (boo hoo). If I possibly can, I'll try to get a photograph of Daughter with the Happy Gang. It is, of course, essential that having arrived back in New Craighall we visit Marks and Spencer at Fort Kinnaird before heading for home.

Then on Sunday, both Son and Daughter are to take part in the Morag Alexander Open Day at the Loch Centre. And, although she never thought to tell us, it turns out that Grandma is planning to attend, but has arranged for transport at 11:00 in the morning, which would have been OK, except that Son's appearance has been rescheduled for 17:15, so Grandma thinks that she should be deposited at our house, except that I rather suspect that it will be a full-time job to get the children ready (did I mention that Daughter has been enrolled on a series of swimming lessons starting at 09:00 on Sunday), and Daughter has just asked me when we shall be going to John Lewis. Granny isn't well, and has decided that she isn't going to the Happy Gang concert (the farewell tour) or the Morag Alexander Open Day, which is a shame, but perhaps, in the circumstances, just as well.

Roll on, Monday ...
