A landmark

Inspired by Ian, I thought that I'd do an occasional series of sights seen on my daily commute. I start with Portobello Town Hall:

What is slightly surreal about this picture is that the van on the left was actually waiting for me to take the picture. To the right, out of sight, is a pelican crossing, which was at red, so he was going to have to stop, but he kindly stopped where he wouldn't obscure my view.

Portobello Town Hall is where, years ago, I watched Jimmy Logan doing a tribute to Harry Lauder (who was born in Portobello - his birthplace is marked with a plaque); it is also the place where we first saw the Happy Gang.
