Struck

Because of to-day's strike, there were no Lothian Buses running, which made my commute somewhat challenging. In the event, timewise, it wasn't too bad - it didn't take me appreciably longer to make the journeys, but it was stressful, particularly because, instead of, as I normally do, taking a route which skirts round Edinburgh, I had to travel to the very centre and then out again. There is something quite soul-destroying, at the end of a working day, in setting off in the opposite direction to home.

And work, as it happened, was stressful - I suppose in the end there was some satisfaction to be gained from, eventually, working out what was causing the problem, but a lot of time and effort was spent barking up the wrong tree.

A bit of a gloomy wiblog entry, I'm afraid. I still feel that I'm getting up far too early.

By the way, I do sympathise with the strikers, partly because I suddenly realised yesterday that Beloved, for historical reasons, is one of those who could potentially lose out if the government gets its way.
