A friend of mine is a singer. Last week, with Fife Opera, he was Leporello in Mozart's "Don Giovanni". On Friday, we (myself, Celebrity, and Gardener) went to see the performance in St Bryce Kirk, Kirkcaldy. We took the train from Edinburgh.
I guess that the show was pretty hard going for Gardener, but he behaved himself remarkably well, and a good time was had by all. The journey home was a bit of a challenge - we caught the last train from Kirkcaldy, arriving in Edinburgh Waverley just after midnight. There was a queue for taxis, and it began to appear possible that we could be stranded. Fortunately, a taxi appeared - the driver looked familiar - it turned out that he had earlier picked up someone from our queue, and had come back because he was concerned for the children. Not unreasonably, it was an expensive ride from Edinburgh to where we live, but most welcome.
