A mini-drama at the bus stop. Wife, daughter, and son were to catch a train to North Berwick, there to meet with a friend, and walk to Dirleton, where I would pick them up. Clever Chas had a look on the First ScotRail website, to discover that there will be no trains to-day between Edinburgh and North Berwick, owing to engineering works. We decided that a service bus would be more reliable than the replacement bus service (not sure about that, now). So I took the family to Prestonpans, to catch the bus. Son decided, presumably disappointed not to be travelling in a train, that he didn't want to go. So when the bus arrived, son and I waved goodbye to wife and daughter. It may be for the best. Son is due a new pair of walking boots, which we can probably buy this afternoon.
Thought, listening to this morning's weather forecast, that we might be in for a haar, but it looks now as if it will be simply hot. I really don't envy the walkers.
