Nothing seems to have gone right this morning. I was supposed to attend a meeting at 10:00, but found that I couldn't gain access to the place where it was being held. The part of the campus where I work is relatively open - people can come and go as they please - so that although I possess a swipe card, I rarely use it. But the meeting was being held on another campus, where the procedures are more security-conscious - understood - but what wasn't so nice was that when I found someone I knew, and who knew me, he wasn't exactly falling over himself to help.
So I gave up trying to get into the meeting, and came back to where I am based (which had the advantage that I managed a morning coffee, which wouldn't have been provided at the meeting). Happily, with some help from our receptionist, I have now made progress - by the time that the next occurrence of this particular meeting happens, I shall be prepared!
