Another wiblogger has recently holidayed in the UK, and clearly not enjoyed the experience. Of course, we did have some issues of our own during the course of our holiday, but I would like now to say that Christian Guild Holidays are well worth considering if you are thinking of this kind of holiday. I believe that they are competitively priced (my dear wife isn't known for being overcharged). Especially, the atmosphere is warm and friendly. There is a spiritual dimension (principally morning and evening prayers), which is helpful, and definitely not forced. Each week there is a host and hostess, not on the staff of the house, who make a real effort (in our experience) to enable everyone to enjoy their time. Highly recommended.
