Just back from a Hallowe'en party. I think, basically, that some people enjoy parties, and some people don't. Wife and daughter do, father and son, probably, don't. I enjoyed the food, and, towards the end did start to enter into the spirit of the occasion. Son seemed to fluctuate emotionally - devastated every time he didn't win a prize. He did come up with the idea of lending his costume to a plaster lion, though:
