And, maybe, if I'd thought to bring with me the right cable, and I had a bit more time, it could have been. But words will have to suffice.

We're spending Christmas, for the second time (we were here two years ago), at the Malcolm Sargent House in Prestwick. About two hours ago, Santa flew in - his chariot of fire being a helicopter from HMS Gannet (which is just a few miles from here). Great excitement as the helicopter landed on the golf course, and Santa (accompanied, of course, by his trusty elf) made his way to the house. Presents were distributed in the lounge (sadly, son didn't get what he's hoping for - he wouldn't tell us what that was, but I think that I know), photos were taken, and then the crew made their way back to the helicopter, eventually to make a stylish departure.

It doesn't feel like Christmas, but whatever it is, it will be remembered.

Amazingly, we've met a family staying here who live less than half a mile from my mother, whom we shall be visiting at New Year - we may even be visiting our new friends!
