To-day, I did not go into work. I spent the morning catching up on things that needed to be done at home (and took a virtual flight in a Catalina flying boat from Edinburgh to Glasgow); this afternoon I took daughter to the hospital to see two of her consultants. A certain irony - she was relieved that this visit did not involve any needles - but the outcome of the visit is that she is going to need a daily injection of growth hormone for the foreseeable future. We are to be visited by a nurse who will demonstrate the various delivery methods - we have to choose which one suits us best. The doctor tried to sweeten the pill by saying that it would be a new device (obviously appreciating the love that boys have for their toys), but somehow it seems to lack the allure of an iPhone or even a Treo 680 (neither of which, I hasten to add, is currently on my shopping list).
