It's been a while

I've enjoyed linking to some of my photos from my wiblog, but, of course, it has been a way of avoiding actually writing anything. So, perhaps I should sit down and do some serious procrastinating (or put myself into the right frame of mind to go back to cutting the lawn).

Work has been (and continues to be) seriously stressful. I seem to have little choice but to hang in there, and hope that as I try each day to do what I can, hopefully the tide will turn. I don't seem to be the only one who is missing deadlines. I'm trying to work more efficiently. I did tell my boss that I was finding things difficult, but he doesn't appear to have done anything.

We have quite a big garden. Because I travel to and from work by bus (instead of driving), I tend to arrive home late-ish - it isn't practical to be working in the garden during the week. This is the first week-end for a while that we haven't had other pressing engagements (last week-end was son's birthday, so we spent Saturday at East Links Family Park with one of son's friends; then on Sunday I almost got involved with church politics - I was encouraged to make myself available to be elected on to the nominating committee (what used to be called a vacancy committee) - our minister retires this autumn - the function of the nominating committee is to nominate a minister who will preach as sole nominee - it is then the congregation's decision whether they will have him or her (or them) - in a way I was relieved not to be voted on to the committee - though as the person who received the least votes I felt that I am now officially the least popular person in the church). I have to cut the lawn. Wife and daughter are out and about; son elected to stay at home with me - which is nice, in a way, except that it would have been easier for me to focus on jobs to be done if I wasn't having to think about what would keep him entertained.

To-morrow, I give blood. It's wife's turn to be at church (because son doesn't go to church, wife and I take turns; daughter loves church and Sunday School - but if I took advantage of not being at church to go and give blood in the morning, then daughter might want to come with me instead of going to Sunday School - so it'll have to be the afternoon). Life these days seems to be incredibly complicated.
