At the name of Jesus

I don't often try to write about the bible here, but Ian's exposition of Philippians 2:5-11 has given me such a lift that I have to try to communicate something.

First, the glorious hymn - At the name of Jesus - especially sung to the tune that has a bit for keyboard between each verse - is it Camberwell? - I'm thinking just now of where it says "for all wreaths of empire meet upon his brow" - but the hymn (as does the passage from Philippians) describes a trajectory - to the depths, and then to the heights - moving, and inspiring.

And then a verse I read this morning, in Colossians 3 - from The Message (without verse numbers, so I can't be more specific) - When Christ (your real life, remember) shows up again on this earth, you'll show up, too - the real you, the glorious you. Meanwhile, be content with obscurity, like Christ. It seems to harmonise with the passage in Philippians - and gave me a real lift, much needed and appreciated.
