This photo didn't make it. My photo project for this year is complicated to describe. It involves trying to take a photo every day, but recognising that many of them will not be particularly interesting, or too similar to a photo already taken. So I choose to publish some of them, in a flickr set. Along the way, odd rules have spring up. I don't take pictures of the lovely flowers in people's private gardens as I pass, and I don't take pictures through windows. So when the sky put on a show this morning, and the only way to capture it was through glass, I took a picture anyway, but had to take another later in the day for the set (when the sun obligingly shone through that same window, and I placed a model aeroplane in its beam).

I'm conscious that some of my photos, hopefully, will appeal to many people, and that some, probably, only to a few. I don't get out much, and quite often I'm grateful just to be able to use available light and an available object to chalk up one more for the collection ...
