On Saturday evening, Alex Hodgson played live at Celtic Connections. Minibuses had been arranged to transport his fans from East Lothian to Glasgow. I was to be picked up at the roundabout on Fulton Brae.

I thought that I could work out where to stand, but I wasn't sure, and was anxious that if I was in the wrong place, I could miss the pickup. Google, Google Maps, the Ordnance Survey - no information. Then, a brainwave! for local knowledge, I could phone our local library. The lady who answered didn't know, but there was a class in, and she offered to ask. The answer was forthcoming - one of the people there had been a postman. Result!

So, a shout out for local libraries - we need them. And thanks for the helpfulness on this particular occasion. And the concert was brilliant. I must record the comment made by the guy who did the first session: the front row of the audience mostly comprised young ladies from enCore, resplendent in their "Jeelie Jars ā€˜n’ Coalie Backies" teeshirts (I hope to acquire one for myself on Wednesday), and the singer observed that he wished he had such a pretty fan club ...
