First off, many, many thanks to Chris for sorting out the wibsite 'issues'. I, and I am sure, many others are extremely grateful to you, for keeping this show on the road ...

Which means that I can write this, which isn't terribly pleasant. But like daughter's sore finger, it's more comfortable when at least some of the poison has oozed out. Colin Mackay, who wrote "Cold Night Lullaby", went on to commit suicide. I found this out just by doing research on the internet. I also found out that during the months leading up to his death, he wrote a memoir, which has been published, again, on the internet. He entitled the memoir "Jacob's Ladder", and arranged for it to be delivered to the publisher after he had made his exit. There's biblical imagery, too, in his poetry, although he appears not to have been a believer.

I'm reading through his memoir. And it is a dark journey. But it is helping me to deal with my own demons. Often, in the face of seemingly overwhelming frustration and despair, the thought that by a single action every difficulty could be instantly wiped out has a certain attraction.

I have an appointment (at last) with a psychologist next week. I've been waiting for over a year. I understand that we shall be considering the possibility of a course of CBT (Cognitive Behavioural Therapy), although the indication is that there would be another long wait before the course could actually start.
