Wishing you all a Happy New Year, as we return home from spending a week near to my mother. We took in the New Year in a riverside chalet, my son barely managing to stay awake past the bells. We had to improvise, as there is a family tradition which involves letting the old year out the back door, and then welcoming the new year in the front, within the space of the twelve bongs of Big Ben. But our chalet didn't have a back door, so our daughter made do with a window.
We've had a pleasant week, but it's down to earth with a bump, as school and work starts on Monday. But to recollect our few days away, here is a picture taken not far from where we were staying:
