i like it that there are people all over the place who are not afraid to carve out their own paths with the shape of church and other such hackneyed phrases. Sometimes you even bump into people you used to know or kind of know of ages and ages ago...

yesterday i was hanging about a bit on small fire and discovered a link in a linked blog to another blog, the author of which was a name name i thought i recognised. i know the christian world is alarmingly tiny and it shouldn't be surprising to trip over people from one's christian past (we are talking 15 or so years ago here) in the present, but what struck me was how this person was thinking and writing and how much this reflected the kind of stuff i say and think about. I don't mind that people have left the faith, but when you see people who haven't even crossed your mind for a good decade and a half have ended up doing a healthy load of delving into the stuff of the faith it's all good.
