the sofas are back in the living room after an outstanding 7 weeks. the builder said 'it should take about 10 days' and proceeded to take 6 weeks, but I accept that I've probably gone on about all that enough!

at one point myself and housemate did think the big sofa was simply not destined to go through the doorway... the room has been put back into two so it was going through a new doorway and very nearly didn't. However, it's all there now.

The slight technical hitch is that I asked the builder to put the broadband through into the second room - but in his wisdom, he also put the telly cable thing through. Wrong! We need that in the front room. Spent a few fruitless moments trying to drag it back through last night but it's not happening... hopefully our cable provider will come and sort it all out for us for free... we might have to word our request carefully though. I can't get broadband to work either - and that cable needs to be longer now - so we do need someone out.

I just ordered a book from Blackwell with possibly the longest title ever:

"A generous orthodoxy: Why I am a missional + evangelical +post/protestant + liberal/conservative + mystical/poetic + biblical + charismatic/contemplative + fundementalist/calvinist + anabaptist/anglican + methodist + catholic + green + Buddhist/Muslim/Hindu/Jewish + depressed-yet-hopeful + emergent + unfinished CHRISTIAN"

I liked the title so much (it reminded me of me) I ordered two copies and you have to import them from America, so i must have been impressed. Amazon were asking a hefty £50+ for one copy, whereas they worked out about £15 each including P+P from blackwell. I might have a new favourite internet bookseller.
