this weekend and the next

i went to a wedding on saturday - it was fantastic. It was moving and really relaxed, and made me proud all over again to be part of such an inclusive church. High points are many, but for me one of the most inspiring bits was when we were invited to go and pray with or just say something encouraging or whatever to the bride and groom - it was done in such a way that absolutely loads of people went up, people who are christians and are well used to doing such things, and people who aren't part of the faith but just wanted to say something, people who just wanted to go and congratulate them in a way which was sort of special rather than just the usual 'well done, lovely' after the service. I thought that is how it should be, that we could make the act of praying with people more of an act of blessing so that people who understand the world differently can still be making an offering.

Also due to awesome creativity the building looked gorgeous (it is not specially inspiring in its natural state!), the food was all done in-house (for 160 people at the main reception, and plently left over for the evening, and so much left over that we all got to take stuff home!), the evening was bring a bottle and i have to say the recycling place will not know what on earth has hit it.

Wasn't invited to the middle bit, a bunch of us went out for lunch then into mumbles for drinks before returning for the evening. All in all a perfect day.

Tomorrow i'm off to london for a few days. Well strictly i'm not getting there till Thursday, but i'm going tomorrow. Am only actually in london fri/sat/sun, but i'm making every minute count! Wiblogs will therefore be few and far between on the chalkboard over the next week.
