we did one on friday in liverpool, at the most wonderful venue, with the best other band ever. Listen to that - gushing chalky. I can hear myself too. oh well... they weren't probably the total exact best we've ever seen, but they were possibly my favourites. check out the wisemen, i think you can google them pretty easily; they say 'the wisemen are purveyors of fine roots rock since 1999. we do folk-rock, alt country, country-rock, psychedelic-rock, soul-rock, blues-rock and rocks that don't yet have names!'. And i tell you, they can drink an alarming amount before they do so. Tighter, therefore, in the soundcheck (!) but very much my cup of tea all round. You can listen to things through links on their website, and you probably should. If you like that sort of thing.

then tonight i went to two... one we were doing the first support at barfly, and then i dashed (dashed, i tell you) from the venue to get to rufus wainwright, who was really good but blighted by rubbish acoustics. Still, excellent.

people in leeds, bristol and london - we have gigs in your area in July. it is quite likely that i will hassle you near the time if i know where you are and all that but if not, ask me and I will tell you great and quite searchable things that you do not know (unless you've looked at the gig page on the website to my left).

Finally, I'm going to see U2 on Wednesday. I may hop from foot to foot about this for a bit. I'm very, very excited.
