Last night was nice. the fire alarm went off in the graduate centre in which i was studying, so i called it quits and went home.

met up with friends for a drink. Had an short conversation about how i should write a novel. This reminded me that two things i meant to do were make a living from being a musician or writing, two things i have always meant to give a bit of time to but never quite have. We tried to think up a title and vague plot for my first novel. We failed.

The administrator of our course is lending me her first and slightly knackered 'cello (she is very good and has a proper one now). I'm hoping i can persuade her to teach me as well. had a go on a couple of 'cellos over the festive season and decided that it would be good to get hold of one. Have decided that piano is ok but is more recreational than professional, flute is fine as it is (can teach it and play it all right but sadly i think it's a bit dull), sax needs some brushing up and will learn cello too, and maybe i'll make some money teaching and maybe maybe in my bestest dreams playing too. Oh and the guitar. i keep meaning to get to more proper grips with that, i can play chords but i always thought a more classical ability would be a good thing, they're so damn marvellous for singing along to. When i put it like that it sounds like a lot. somebody should employ me to Play Things, i reckon. Hmmm.
