I remember it had been a couple of months, but images still lingered of the Bali nightclub terrorist bombing that killed 88 Australians. In Christmas 2002 I was sitting in a large crowd in a public garden proudly listening to my daughter singing carols with her youth choir. It was a balmy evening, everyone was enjoying themselves and the following thought just hacked its way into my life...there is someone somewhere on this great globe that would love to throw a bomb into this crowd and kill us all. A sobering thought and one that I fear, after this weeks events in London, will come again with all its sense of incomprehensibility and seeming helplessness.
I have no answers on how to respond other than praying for all those involved and to try and shine my own small light into the darkness, and to raise our children as children of the light, in the belief that if enough do this, it will make a difference.
