Besides my wife, my family, God, birds and fishing I really love maps. In fact some who know me would say that I am obsessed with the graphic interpretations of this great planet.
Signs of true map obsession are:
1. When a police TV show has a map on the wall in the background, you look at the map and miss the vital conversation of the detectives.
2. When getting takeaways, you only go to Subway....not because of the healthy food but because they have maps on the wall.
3. Most of your items of clothing have a map featured on them somewhere. I bought a pair of pants once because the lining on the inside of the waist was made from a material that had a map printed on it.
4. You tend to like people according to their affinity to maps. We have a childhood school photo of my wife which features a lovely map in the background...our kids reckon I saw that and decided to marry her on the spot.
....well we've been very happily married 34 years now, so what better testimonial to the “power of the map”.
