Crikey! You really are like a family...thanks for all your responses, I feel really welcome.
Happy to help with the plan to move the centre of the group further south...although to placate the northerners I confess that my great grandparents sailed from England (in 1849), and they were booked to settle in Sydney too, but the first port of call was Melbourne and (as family legend has it) my great-grandmother disembarked and refused to get back on the ship.
To begin this message with “Crikey” might be seen as adding to the “australianification” of this blogsite, but I may be following burnt sienna's advice of writing something really dumb early in my blogging too, so's its easier next time. Your choice...
