I have a mate who likes smelling books. Quite unconsciously he has developed the habit that when he picks up a book he opens it and sticks his nose in and has a good sniff. Not the “scratch ‘n' sniff” variety, just normal books. He tells me he likes the smell of new books best and actually once found himself in a bookshop giving his nose a real work-out. I suppose you could make a joke about it, but I think it's just a strange little habit, and on a weirdness scale of 1 to 10 I'd probably rate the habit as about a 7.
Do you have an odd habit? You know what... when I get out of the shower and the bathroom mirror is all fogged up, instead of wiping it clear to see myself, I pick up my daughters hair dryer and point it at the mirror on full heat. As the hot air clears the fog off the mirror, my eyes appear out of the grey mist, looking at me, and slowly my whole face comes into view. It's a weird moment and sort of reminds me of how the credits come into clarity at the start of some movies. Can you believe that I do this every morning?..on the weirdness scale I'd give this a 4.
