The other day I saw a bloke (about 65 years old) who looked like he'd had a tough life. Grey beard, gold tooth, tattoos, two legs missing etc...his face looked to me a bit like a weather-beaten Willy Nelson,
I remember thinking, this guy has really lived life...you know, the sort of person you imagine has jumped into life, grabbed life with his teeth and given it a real shaking.
The congregation I belong to has a mission statement that includes the words... we are a people who "celebrate God-given life to the full" and when I see someone like the above and imagine the sort of life they've had, I think I've really only scratched the surface of what it means to live life to the full.
