The baby came last Wednesday -- 20 inches long, 7 lbs 13.8 oz.
Everyone is well. Mama had to have a C-section, but she's doing very well with it. And nursing him, bless her! I am always glad to see a young mother choose breastfeeding.
If he's fussy, Daddy takes him and he shuts right up. Must be the contrasts in my son's face -- fair skin, dark almost black hazel eyes, coffee colored hair and brows. Babies like black-and-white.
He had his first well-baby visit with his pediatrician yesterday -- he's actually grown a bit, and gained 5 ounces! This is phenomenal for a breastfed baby, since they tend to drop a little weight while they wait for the milk to come in.
Well, under 8 lbs. is a low birthweight for my son's side of the the family -- maybe Baby is simply catching up!
