Coup de Coats

Sometimes I get assigned to an area where someone else feels she has precedence. Perhaps she's been employed longer and that spot has always been "hers". Anyway, I usually back off and let the ladies have their way. They hug the cash registers, and depend upon repeat customers who remember them to come to them to buy stuff.

I, on the other hand, have to work for it. Don't mind- I take the higher road and God takes care of me. I get decent reviews, and usually get my raises.

Hee hee hee--- the other day, I was calmly going about my business in what is supposedly not a prime area, while the others hogged and hugged their cash registers, taking in money hand-over-fist.

They were trapped in one place by their own greed, often selling low-ticket sale items... $12 T-shirts... while I, having no prime real estate to work on, was free to roam. I helped a couple of couples and sold five leather coats, one after the other, four within one 10-minute span! Oh, it was glorious. One could hear my co-workers' teeth grinding. They, parked in their pet territories, all had a full view of me, free to roam, flitting from sale to profitable sale like a money bee. Oh, it was a hot afternoon.
