As some of you know, I used to work for the Church in Wales, dealing with their systems for approval of conservation and other work on church buildings, especially cathedrals. This meant my path crossed with a lot of fairly senior clergy, architects, archaeologists and such like.
My mother is involved with the Church Monuments Society (interest in obscure subjects appears to run in the family*), and has just come back from a study weekend in the Bangor Diocese.
As far as I can tell, she has spent the weekend marching around the diocese collaring senior clergy, architects etc and demanding to know if they know me.
(The worrying thing is that most of them did, and I haven't been in work for more than two years.)
*I was going to say 'is a family affliction' but then realised it's really just me and my mum, unless the elder brothers and sisters have small study libraries on obscure subjects which I am unaware of.
